A Tea time chat

Heather and Mary invite you to help us ponder how... best to steward Sweet Willow Naturals into the future

Stewardship requires planning.

Stewardship requires planning

We are old.

Ok, so we aren't really that old. But we are old enough to know that we need to thoughtfully consider the next stage of our lives, and developing a transition plan for Sweet Willow Naturals is a priority for us. So, we have decided to bring you all in to our "teatime chat".

It's important to know what brings you joy - and what does not. We think we have a pretty good idea what those things are. For example, Mary loves working with people, coaching them, educating them - helping them to be the best person they can be. Heather loves being in the processing kitchen, creating new products, and working with clients who want to integrate herbs into their lives.

Then there is the retail side of Sweet Willow Naturals - honestly, we entered this journey on a whim. Laura was selling the store, moving away - and the thought of being without this gem led us to take it over. And we have done amazingly well - laughed a lot and learned a lot, considering we really had no idea what we were doing - just a love for herbs, for providing exceptional service, for getting back to nature, and for educating people. What we know, however, is what Sweet Willow Naturals really needs is a person who has the "retail bug" - someone who is willing to move the retail side of things forward, understands social media (and likes it....), and really has an eye for what customers want and need.

As we look to the future, we realize that the best thing we can do for Sweet Willow Naturals is to bring in a new owner to take over the retail side of the store - so we can focus on the service side that we really love. So, we are asking you to let us know if this could be you - or someone you know.

We have decided that we will make a decision on the direction for the store by the end of February. If you have a serious interest in owning - or partially owning - the retail component of Sweet Willow Naturals, we ask that you contact Heather or Mary at the store. Serious inquires only, please. We aren't looking for an employee - we are looking for a steward to move Sweet Willow Naturals into the next generation. We believe we have given this individual(s) a solid base from which to grow, and we are here to support that person(s).

We honestly have loved this journey - and getting to know each and every one of you who comes in to the store, who laughs with us, who shares a bit of themselves with us. And we look forward to continuing to work with you over the next few months in the store, and further on as we provide services around health and wellness coaching and herbal consults/products. It is always affirming to know we aren't the only ones looking for ways to be healthier, happier, and more full of joy. We also love that many of you share our strong desire to protect the environment, and support our goal of being as sustainable as possible....protecting our planet is critical to protecting our own health and well-being. We all play an important role, and it's important to remember that, especially when the conversation seems so overwhelming and out of our control.

Happy New Year to all of our Sweet Willow family and friends. We look forward to what this new year will bring in our own, aging lives (ha!)...and what it will bring for this special place here in the Green Bay community. Thank you for ongoing support, and for putting on your "thinking caps" to help us with this decision. Many hands make light work!

Blessings,

heather and Mary
